Thank you all for following along on this wonderful journey. We do plan to do a recap post once we get home. This afternoon we are off to Dublin for 3 nights, then home to Phoenix on Monday.
Fisterra
This amazing journey continues to the “end of land” – the peninsula of Finisterra (town of Fisterra). Cooper and I walked the 55 miles from Santiago. Click below to see our recap of the past few days.
O Coto to Santiago
Elizabeth and I walked into Santiago early in the morning on June 6th. Cooper and Chelsea were there to greet us. Click below to read about our last 3 days into Santiago.
Cooper and I walked out to Fisterra and met up with Elizabeth and Chelsea this morning (June 9). We walked 48 miles the first two days, leaving just 7 this morning to get to town, so we arrived before 9AM leaving us a full day in town. We will post again in a couple days with a full recap.
Santiago
We arrived in Santiago this morning and have had a great day. I am not posting tonight and tomorrow Cooper and I head out to walk to Fisterra. Elizabeth and Chelsea are taking the bus. It is currently 9:45PM and we are about to head back out to listen to some live music by the cathedral. Tomorrow Cooper and I have a 21 mile walk. We will post in 3 days when C and I arrive in Fisterra.
Triacastela to O Coto
We continue to have great weather. We love the Galician countryside. Click below to read about what we have been up to.
Las Herrerias to Triacastela
We have had another great couple of days weather wise. Click below to read up on our latest adventures.
Foncebadon to Las Herrerias
The weather two days ago was 36 degrees, foggy with a breeze as we crossed the ridge along the Cruz de Ferro. A few hours later and 2,900 feet lower it was in the mid 80s and sunny as we walked from Molinaseca to Ponferrada. Crazy. It has stayed sunny and very warm the past two days. Click below to see our pictures.
Hospital de Orbigo to Foncebadon
Another outstanding weather day, sunny and mid 60s. We are back in the mountains again, which I love. Tomorrow is the Cruz de Ferro in the morning and a castle in the afternoon!
Puente Villarente to Hospital de Orbigo
The weather has been sunny the past two days with highs of 70. Can’t ask for more than that. Really the weather has been great for walking. We have enjoyed the cloudy, cool weather and the rains have been mostly in the evenings and nights.
Sahagun to Puente Villarente
The kids moved on to Leon today, while Elizabeth and I stopped in Puente Villarente. We will meet up tomorrow and walk out of the city together. Click below to read about our past two days.
