Chamonix France

My latest adventure is off and running. I left Phoenix 4 days ago, took a redeye to London and continued to Geneva, Switzerland where I spent Thursday night. Friday morning I got a ride to Chamonix, France. I have had a great day and a half in Chamonix and tomorrow I start walking toward Zermatt Switzerland on the Walkers Haute Route. I plan to take 11 days to walk the 128 miles. This will be a fairly typical alpine trek. I will spend 5 of the next 10 nights in a mountain hut and the other 5 nights in a small hotel in a Swiss village. I paid a tour company to make the arrangements. I am travelling solo, but like my typical answer on the Appalachian Trail or a winter Camino, “I am by myself, but never alone”. This route is fairly popular, so I should meet many like minded walkers along the way. Click below to read and see what I have been up to.

Glacier Bay

Tomorrow we head out from Seattle on an Alaskan cruise. Elizabeth did a great job today, walking around the airports and Pike Place Market in Seattle. By far her most active day since her knee replacement. Hopefully she did not over do it.

Below is a link to our Glacier Bay page. We will add to this page in a few days.

O Pedrouzo

I have only 12 miles remaining to get to the Cathedral in Santiago. This trip has gone very fast, I can’t believe it is almost over. I have physically felt great. My feet have been zero issue. I did get one small blister, but it did not affect my walking. It looks like tomorrow is the best weather forecast so far – sunny and mid 50s. Hopefully I will see a few familiar faces in Santiago. My two Korean woman friends went through O Pedrouzo today. I saw them at lunch. They will arrive in the morning. They are also planning to take the bus to Fisterra.
