A great start to the Ingles. Lots of hills and rain only off and on. I have been staying in nice places, so able to dry everything out at night. So far, only 1 pilgrim sighting in 2 days of walking. Oh well, not a big deal. I enjoy the interactions with the locals. It is certainly more personal in the winter with fewer pilgrims.
I’m glad to hear that you’ve had a good start to the Ingles. Also good that you’ve had warm, dry places to stay at night, especially since it seems to rain every single day! In reading the stats that you shared I was surprised at the number of Koreans that walk the Camino, and also that so few Europeans walk it in the winter. I loved seeing the tulips in bloom in Ferrol.

Gary said that Koreans get January off of work and Europeans are most likely skiing and sledding! ⛷️
Like most of us, the Europeans walk the Camino in the warmer months!🌞
Looking forward to hearing more of Gary’s stories when he gets home next week!🏜

Sounds like a nice hike! We leave at the end of February for the Porto Camino. I’ve been watching the weather, 50s and rain!
