What a fun time in MI, our home state! Mackinac Island is sure unique, isn’t it? So glad you got to experience it! Some of Dave’s and my favorite photos before we moved out here were from up in that area in the Fall. Just gorgeous hiking and waterfalls and foliage! An interesting memory about Isle Royale…When I was in grade school, my next door neighbors, the parents, and basically 2nd parents to us, (they had 5 kids like my family and we were all super close in ages) were up there on their boat for a little vacation and bad weather came in, capsized their boat and they both died. I remember getting off the school bus and my Mom waiting for all of us to let us know what happened. It was devastating.
I am happy you got to get out there and see that area, too. Michigan has so much to offer that people are not aware of. Enjoy your next leg!
