On July 6th, 2021 we are taking off on a 7 week road trip. Rangeley is 14 months old and this will be his 3rd road trip. Last fall we took off when he was 4 months and visited 26 states and 27 National Parks. This spring we did a west coast swing visiting 13 more Parks. These trips are documented on our National Parks page.
This trip will include visiting two more parks – New River Gorge in West Virginia and Acadia in Maine. We will be visiting friends and family along the way. When we return home Rangeley will have visited 45 of the lower 48 states (Florida, Delaware and Rhode Island) and I will have a geocache find in 49 states, only missing Alaska. I have been to Alaska, but that was 20 years ago.

Instead of travelling to Spain to walk the Camino this summer we have decided to stay in the states and do another road trip. Elizabeth has a conference she is working in Asheville, NC so Gary and Rangeley will drive east and meet her there on August 10th. We will then drive north the entire 469 mile length of the Blue Ridge Parkway. The plan is to head to the coast of Maine, do some trail magic on the Appalachian Trail, then head to Vermont to visit family, drive through Ohio to visit our Amish friends, then head home to Phoenix.
