Another Spain trip coming to a close. I really enjoy the walking here. The weather has added challenges, but that is part of what I enjoy with a winter walk. The personal interactions with the locals are always fun. I hope you have enjoyed following along. I fly home in a few days and returnContinue reading “Betanzos to Santiago”

Ferrol to Betanzos
A great start to the Ingles. Lots of hills and rain only off and on. I have been staying in nice places, so able to dry everything out at night. So far, only 1 pilgrim sighting in 2 days of walking. Oh well, not a big deal. I enjoy the interactions with the locals. ItContinue reading “Ferrol to Betanzos”
Palas de Rei to Santiago
I have finished the Camino Frances. I have a rest day tomorrow as I take a bus north to the coastal city of Ferrol. Thursday I will start walking the Camino Ingles back to Santiago. It is only 71 miles – 5 days of walking. Palas de Rei to Santiago
Sarria to Palas de Rei
I am posting this morning since today is an 18+ mile day, with a chance of rain this afternoon. The next post will be 3 days, once I reach Santiago. I continue to enjoy Galicia with the farm land and rolling hills. Sarria to Palas de Rei
O Cebreiro to Sarria
Two days in a row that I have stayed basically dry. Yes, the first day snowed all morning, but I was dry! It is crazy how fast this month has gone. I hope you have enjoyed following along. O Cebreiro to Sarria
Molinaseca to O Cebreiro
The past 3 days have been pretty wild, snow, rain, snow. I certainly have gotten my wish for weather on this trip. From here I head down the mountain and have no more big hills to climb. I am also getting closer to the ocean, snow the temperatures should be in the mid to upperContinue reading “Molinaseca to O Cebreiro”
San Martin to Molinaseca
Today was the winter walk I had been hoping for. Beautiful snow up high. In two days I should get a repeat as O Cebreiro has been getting a lot of snow and literally there is a 65% (or higher) chance of snow every day in their 10 day forecast. It is funny, you wouldContinue reading “San Martin to Molinaseca”
Mansilla to San Martin
I walked in to Leon yesterday and today walked 15 miles forward, but took a bus back, so I could have a second night in Leon. Tomorrow morning I will take the 30 minute bus ride back to San Martin and continue walking forward. I rented a nice place that has a kitchen and aContinue reading “Mansilla to San Martin”
Ledigo to Mansilla de las Mulas
Another quiet day on the path. Tomorrow is Leon. I will probably buy a pack cover as the rains are scheduled to return. I am feeling great and on schedule, so I am going to start researching the Camino Ingles. It is the shortest Camino from Ferrol down to Santiago. I hope to walk itContinue reading “Ledigo to Mansilla de las Mulas”
Fromista to Ledigos
The weather the past two days has been rainy and temps in the mid 30s. I wished it was colder so it would have been snow. Early on all the mud was frozen, so no big deal. It is all part of the journey. No one out here complains about the weather. That is partContinue reading “Fromista to Ledigos”
